About Us

Empowerment Oasis Therapy is a private practice center that provides personalized, high-quality, supportive mental health services for culturally diverse clients. We implement individualized, selected approaches such as Mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based, and Attachment-Based Treatments. Many of these therapeutic approaches are intended to empower clients on their journey to positive wellness and help them navigate life stressors.

How I Can Help:
In our first session, I will begin getting to know you and listen to your concerns. I will validate your feelings, and you will feel heard. Your life journey is important to me, and our time spent together is carefully crafted to allow a safe place to be heard, seen, and, in time, feel empowered.

My approach includes helping clients identify their strengths to overcome obstacles and break away from unhealthy patterns or habits. Clients also learn to implement positive coping skills and behaviors to improve their mindset. Depending on clients’ individualized needs, communication resiliency, and personal strengths can increase with time by learning the tools needed to reach individual goals. A trustworthy, empathetic clinician like myself will facilitate the process through solid validation, humility, and compassion to help my clients understand their life journey.

Therapeutic success cannot occur without the ability to have my clients feel accepted and heard. We will work together on a treatment plan with goals that align with your current needs and together to support the transformation you seek to bring peace and self-acceptance to yourself.

My Specialties:
I provide behavioral therapy for BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) adolescents and adult clients in need of wellness and emotional support for clients going through life transitions, women's issues, dealing with work-life balance, intergenerational trauma, issues of self-esteem, body image, effects of racism and microaggressions, and other issues. I have a wealth of experience with adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, school issues, and so much more. Some of these client populations have included emotionally disabled children and adolescents, as well as adults presenting with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together, we can find a path to healing.

As a Latinx clinician:

I have seen and experienced firsthand some of the barriers the Latinx community faces when it comes to mental health care, which includes cultural differences, stigma, legal status, and, most importantly, language barriers. I have seen and heard the stigma surrounding mental health treatment and the lack of access to mental healthcare. I understand the importance of culturally informed practitioners in mental health. My passion is providing culturally competent care, empathy, and understanding to foster confidence and healing. Speaking the native language helps develop trusting relationships and encourages communication for the Latinx community.

Perhaps you’re the first person in your family to seek therapy, and maybe this approaching this new journey makes you feel very uncertain. Just remember that you’re not alone. I am here to help.

Therapy is not about "chisme" (gossiping) or "hablando mal de uno" (talking negatively about others) It is about overcoming emotional conflicts to communicate better, create better self-understanding, and pursue individualized mental health goals.
