Our Services

At Empowerment Oasis Therapy, we provide personalized, high-quality therapy to empower individuals on their journey to wellness. Our licensed clinicians help clients navigate life challenges, discover inner strength, and achieve emotional and mental balance. We provide a non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and feelings.

Our HIPPA-secure video conferencing virtual platform creates a safe and supportive space for clients to connect with their therapist and share their stories without meeting in person.

Our therapists are clinically licensed in Illinois and can thus only serve individuals in that state. Currently, only Illinois residents can participate in virtual talk therapy services.

We believe that mindfulness practices are essential to achieving emotional and mental balance. At Empowerment Oasis Therapy, we encourage mindfulness-based interventions to help clients increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. Our licensed therapists work with clients to develop mindfulness practices that are tailored to their unique needs and goals.

Trauma-Informed Care Treatment: This treatment shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” A complete picture of a client's past and present situation is necessary to provide effective therapeutic services with healing solutions. Then, the client's nervous system responses to experienced trauma are examined to provide useful interventions for comprehensive improvement.

Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment: Through CBT, clients examine their thoughts and emotions closely and understand how they affect their actions. They can transform negative thoughts and behaviors and adopt healthier thinking patterns and habits. My client will attempt to learn to more effectively respond to stress, pain, and difficult situations.

Solution-Focused Treatment: This places far more importance on discussing solutions than problems. Of course, you and I must discuss the problem to find a solution, but this goes beyond understanding it and deciding how to address it. The client and I set goals and implement the solution together. SFT works on the assumption that every client has at least some level of motivation to address their problems and find solutions that improve their quality of life. Client motivation is essential to the model, making us work together to explore multiple solutions.

Strengths-Based Treatment: This approach examines clients’ strengths to be implemented when responding to adverse life events. It is client-led and centered on outcomes, allowing clients to impact change in themselves and guiding them in forming a new relationship with themselves. Character strengths and core patterns are intentionally utilized in creating personal growth.

Motivational Interviewing Treatment:  This intervention helps people become motivated to change the behaviors preventing them from making healthier choices in a supportive manner. It encourages clients to talk about their need for change and their reasons for wanting to change. The therapist's role is to evoke a conversation about change and commitment by listening and reflecting on the client’s thoughts so that the client can hear their reasons and motivations expressed back to them. The first goal is to increase the person’s motivation, and the second is to commit to change.

Attachment-Based: Attachment-based concepts are a solid foundation for understanding the development of ineffective coping strategies and clients' emotional difficulties. This attachment-based intervention is most commonly utilized with anxiety and avoidance-based behaviors. This intervention aims to understand how clients' experiences with caregivers or significant others have shaped their coping patterns. In many cases, these natural defense mechanisms are used to protect people initially but often contribute to their experiences of distress. Early childhood experiences influence development and behavior later in life but can be positively interrupted with treatment.
